One-dimensional topological superconductivity based entirely on phase control

چکیده
Topological superconductivity in one dimension requires time-reversal symmetry breaking, but at the same time, it is hindered by external magnetic fields. We offer a general prescription for inducing topological planar superconductor-normal-superconductor-normal-superconductor (SNSNS) Josephson junctions without applying any fields on junctions. Our platform relies two key ingredients: three parallel superconductors form superconductor-normal-superconductor with phase winding, and Fermi velocities spin branches transverse to junction must be different from another. The differences among define parameter plane which includes large regions. analytically derive critical curves where transitions occur corroborate result numerical calculation based tight-binding model. further propose material platforms unequal velocities, establishing experimental feasibility of our approach.

One Dimensional Topological Lattices
The lattice theoretic terminology used in this paper is consistent with Birkhoff [2]. The topological terms can be found in [5] or [8] with the following exceptions. If X and Y are sets, X\Y denotes the relative compliment of Y with respect to X. If A is a subset of a topological space then A*, A"and FiA)=A*\A° denote the topological closure, interior and boundary of A. The symbol 0 denotes the...
متن کاملInterplay between classical magnetic moments and superconductivity in quantum one-dimensional conductors: toward a self-sustained topological Majorana phase.
We study a one-dimensional interacting electronic liquid coupled to a 1D array of classical magnetic moments and to a superconductor. We show that at low energy and temperature the magnetic moments and the electrons become strongly entangled and that a magnetic spiral structure emerges. For strong enough coupling between the electrons and magnetic moments, the 1D electronic liquid is driven int...
متن کاملTopological phase transition in quasi-one dimensional organic conductors
We explore topological phase transition, which involves the energy spectra of field-induced spin-density-wave (FISDW) states in quasi-one dimensional (Q1D) organic conductors, using an extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model. We show that, in presence of half magnetic-flux FISDW state, the system exhibits topologically nontrivial phases, which can be characterized by a nonzero Chern number. T...
متن کاملPhase Properties of One-Dimensional Quaternary Photonic Crystals
In this paper, properties of reflection phase in one-dimensional quaternary photonic crystals combining dispersive meta-materials and positive index materials are investigated by transfer matrix method. Two omnidirectional band gaps are located in the band structure of considered structure. However, we limit our studies to the frequency range of the second wide band gap. We observe that the val...
